Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 896MB Review

Overclocking Results

Even though the GTX 275 896MB carries a 55nm core, we weren’t expecting it to be an overclocking beast considering the limits imposed by a lower-end power distribution design when compared to the GTX 285. It turns out that we were only half right.

Core Overclock: 726Mhz
Shader Overclock: 1610Mhz
Memory Overclock: 1312Mhz (2624Mhz DDR)

While the final clocks are respectable, the core ended up overclocking less than 100Mhz which was definitely a disappointment even though a 93Mhz increase isn’t something to scoff at. The memory on the other hand surprised us by running up to 178Mhz (356Mhz DDR) faster than stock speeds. Considering the latency the modules are rated at, this is something of an achievement. All in all, overclocking this engineering sample proved to be a mixed bag so we are hoping that some manufacturers will come out with versions sporting a bit more headroom.
