Left 4 Dead

For benching Left 4 Dead, we used a pre-recorded 5 minute timedemo taken during The Rooftop Finale mission. Framerates were captured with FRAPS.

1680 x 1050

1920 x 1200

2560 x 1600

The HD 4890’s performance in Left 4 Dead was odd to say the least. Even though it retained a healthy lead over the GTX 275 in 1680 and 1920 resolutions, performance dropped significantly when extreme resolutions were used. Considering its memory bandwidth and framebuffer size advantage over the GTX 275, this is a bit of a head-scratcher.
