Fallout 3: GPU Performance

For these Fallout 3 benchmarks we decided to use one of the more graphically intensive portions of the game: a gameplay session which starts at the exit from Vault 101, through Springvale, over a small hill towards Washington and then back towards Megaton. Within this session two ants were fought near Springvale. All in all, the gameplay time is about 6 minutes.

1440 X 900

1680 X 1050

In Fallout 3 things at the top of the mainstream price range seem pretty close with the 9800 GT sitting pretty as king of the hill but the real story is a bit further down in the charts. The 9500 GT is finally able to convincingly wipe the floor with the HD 4850 while the 9600 GSO is able to stay out in front of the HD 4670 albeit by a somewhat slim margin.
