High Performance Fan Results

Q6600 w/ Noctua NF-P12-1300 fan

We here at Hardware Canucks feel it is our duty to provide you with as many answers as possible and the very fact that it is downright fun modding things has nothing to do with us going “above and beyond”….honest….trust us! Whether you believe us or not, one question I am sure many of you are asking themselves about this cooler has to do with that fan. In order to answer this question we yanked the NF-P12-1300 fan that came with the Noctua cooler we recently reviewed and stuck that bad boy onto the Gladiator to see what would happen. Here is what we found out.

When you stick a really good fan on the Gladiator, it is able to just barely eek past the Vendetta 2's stock cooler results. It is hard to recommend spending even the usual sale price of $12 for a Noctua fan for this little bit of gain. If you absolutely need the best performance from this cooler than by all means go for it! For everyone else, we recommend taking that money and spending it on a backplate upgrade.
