Auzentech X-fi Home Theater HD 7.1 Audio Card

HDMI 1.3 audio / video has been a hot topic lately especially in the AV forums. Many are excited at the prospect that their PC or HTPC will have full HDMI audio/video capabilities and there have been a few products which have come to market that can supply these specifications in varying degrees. The X-fi HTHD can supply all the HDMI audio goodness you could want with full support for LPCM and bitstreaming output of Dolby® Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio.

The HWC Audio Lab has received exclusive updated information and some nice high resolution pictures of this highly anticipated offering from Auzentech. The HWC Audio Lab is pleased to present the Auzentech X-fi Home Theater HD 7.1 audio card.

There have been various re-designs to the card when comparing to the original information and specifications released by Auzentech previously. Futher information suggests the HTHD card is scheduled for release sometime in November with a MSRP of ~$249.

Although this card will support the full range of HDMI 1.3 audio standards, the card also features a full array of analog and digital output options for those who are waiting a bit longer to take the plunge into HDMI Audio/Video. The bundle includes break out cable to support 7.1 analog outputs, Line input and Microphone input. The output array also features a headphone output in addition to the full array of analog I/O options.

The S/PDIF I/O features Dolby Digital Live and DTS-Connect Encoding. This new card will become one of Auzentech's flagship models with full support for Hardware Accelerated EAX 1,2,3,4,5 And OpenAL support. We also see Auzentechs trademark replaceable opamp for the Front/Headphone channel. Good news for those of us with a collection of opamps. The lower right hand side of the card contains a DID Ext connector, which can be used to connect Expansion bay devices.
