Default Difference: VGA, DVI and HDMI?

Hi guys. The title pretty much says it all. What is the difference between these? Which is better? What do I need to know? Thanks!

DVI and HDMI will both do the same thing and give far better picture quality over VGA

VGA has/uses an analog signal, whereas DVI and HDMI are digital. The "major" difference between DVI and HDMI, is that HDMI is a licensed trademark, and in order for a device (or cable) to be hdmi compliment (or use the name), they must pay a royalty. DVI is royalty free.

VGA is also video only.

HDMI and DVI are capable of carrying a digital audio signal as well.

I wasn't aware that DVI could carry an audio signal.

Everything others have said so far. DVI/HDMI and your good to go. VGA is a fading away (as are all analog signals).

I disagree. Analog for audio is still MUCH better and far superior to digital. Why do you think record players are coming back? Analog sound baby.

Move to proper forums!

For those that say HDMI and DVI give better picture quality. I haven't noticed a difference...
