Overclocking 2600k with P8P67 Rev3 Mobo

This is part continuation from my thread in the new builds section. I did a search for this combination and it didnt come up with anything. I know Eldonko was helping with some questions I had about overclocking.

My Specs first

1. Intel i7 2600k
2. P8P67 Deluxe Mobo (BIOS 1503)
3. 8GB Corsair Vengeance (1600Mhz)

My issue is I used the auto-tune software in windows and it didn't seem to work so I thought. Every time my PC would reboot after OC'ing at 4.9Ghz, CPUZ would come back to where it was stock clocks. (I figured it was the down stepping *facepalm* )

Where do I go in AI Tweaker to change the timings so that I have a BIOS level change to ensure that my PC boots up without issues? I found that after I changed the timing in OC Tuner from stock 34 to 44, whenever my machine comes out of hibernate, it has an OC error and does a boot, shutdown, boot, shutdown and boot cycle, which finally goes into Windows.

Any guides where I can change one thing at a time, monitor it and then change something again, monitor it, bump up something somewhere, monitor it...etc. etc?

Use BIOS level settings for overclocking and don't go crazy like you did. Baby steps!

Yeah I have just accepted the fact I will play in the BIOS. Now what do I change first?

Basically with the 1155 stuff. Just up the multiplier a bit at a time.

Was able to get my 2500k to 5GHZ using an asus board.
