Great, wow. I might try this. Specially If I destroy the drive, it is not that expensive to replace....

I would like to buy acrylic from you, tape and cutting disk, but since you are in the USA, not efficient to do.... Altough, if I dind enough stuff, it might work

I did a windowed hdd mod back in the day, mounted upright and facing the side window looked awesome but I am wondering why I would do a dvd drive. If you had a accrillic case this would look sweet but in a standard case the dvd drive is hidden mostly so IMO that is a huge drawback.

Still a very cool mod though though at least you dont have to worry about contaminates as you would for a hdd.

There is a link to another mod for the top of the case in there. It is to correct what you described.

Agree, pointless if you cant see it...lol.. I'll be posting a guide on adding a window to the top of your case next :thumb:

btw: Some people asked if the LEDS would effect the disc reader (eye) performance. No worries the LEDs project above the DVD and reader is on different frequency.

Heh yeah sorry didnt see that the first time I looked at the guide, Hey I just glanced through it rather than read.

I imagine that with the LED's and a disc running it would look pretty cool.
