Default Help! Accelero Twin Turbo and 4850

Hi all,

Just got my accelero twin turbo, and looking at the VRM sinks, I wasn't supplied with enough for this card??? I am not sure how to mount these. I attached some pics of what I am looking at, and ways I've seen them mounted online.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, do those large metal boxes need sinks? Or is it just the small black ones?

Those are for the Memory chips, and yes only the larger black squares need those

what 4850 do you have ( i had to cut off the small vrm heat sink from the original heat sink and screw it back down hack saw is need ) i don't have a camera right now to show you but i found a pic you need to cut off the last part of the heat sink and it will screw back down with 2 little screws, like the 3rd pic

You only want to cover the small black chips with those heatsinks (aka the VRMs). The chunky grey ones don't need heatsinks.

Well I did mine like such:

They only make contact with the small black VRMs, and I faced the fins to overlap eachother. The grey blocks I left naked. And of course all the RAM chips have the necessary heatsinks on them.

I believe I cut one of those VRM ones though because it wouldn't sit flat on the VRMs since something else was nearby.

Suffice to say, it worked flawlessly, no issues at all. And I've since sold that HD4850, but with the stock cooling, and there was no complaints. Sold the TwinTurbo too, only separately.
