ATI BIOS FLASH 3870 x 2

[Shredder]

Warning,
DO NOT DO THIS IF
1. Your machine is overclocked
2. You dont have a video card to install for rescue operations
3. Your machine is not stable
4. You dont have a Floppy Drive
5. Your card runs fine and cool.

This is a method that worked for me and I am passing it on.
XP PRO 32,CAT 8.12 Drivers

Grab GPU-Z ,
get and save both stock bios(s) Master is 44kb ,Slave is 63kb
Get and run RBE_118
Tweak Fan profile, and 3d memory and clocks as desired, save as modmaster.bin and modslave.bin

Place 1.44 diskette into floppy drive, format as DOS boot disk, FAT format

Get atiflash, copy atiflash extracted files to floppy drive, copy modmaster.bin and modslave.bin to floppy disk.

Reboot computer, set boot order to see floppy drive first, reboot

At DOS curser, type specifically.... atiflash -ai

This will give all information on your videa cards as is.


type atiflash -s 0 stkmaster.rom
type atiflash -s 1 stkslave.rom

This will again save your stock bios(s)

To change bios(s)

type atiflash -p 0 modmaster.bin

then
type atiflash -p 1 modslave.bin

then remove floppy disk and reboot. There is a tut on making a USB thumbdrive around, for those that dont have a floppy drive it is an option.
