Strangely enough, that's one of the options. You have a slider you can go from 512 up to like 8 gb. I guess it adjusts settings based on that. I never saw my total system memory go past 34% I set the slider at 2 gig.

Yes, gonna pick this one up. I like the try before you buy, but there are lots of on-line and community features that will give this some value. I haven't even hit the galaxy yet, supposed to be the best part. Then I'll do my next planet as an herbivore, then an omnivore...

BTW- Your system specs are hardly middle of the road. Won't even break a sweat cranking this one up.

lol your quite right on that point, but i was thinking more my wife's laptop. this game has the look of something that i can con my wife into playing, that she might actually enjoy. then if she gets hooked i can say "SEE??!! SEE!!?? gaming IS fun ISNT IT??" mwahahahaha....

and other than my wife, i know alot of people that would enjoy something as crazy as this game that really havnt got much of a system. and after the debacle i had with simcity societies..... i actually recomended that one to a couple people just on the faith of maxis products and about 90 % of the people i recomended it to couldnt play it, even though they had pretty good computers.... almost all of them had memory problems... play for a while, game crashes... out of memory. bareley even get a medium sized city going with most everything on low... what a POS.... i never did play that game longer than it took to crash it...

maxis lost alot of points with me on that one.

hot though they may be, they are both quite similar to an old cuda with a 6 pack... powerful as hell, but tempermental as in constant need of minute attentions.

I've been reading on various forums that those that have downloaded the game via torrent or newsgroup are disappointed. A lot think the game is too cartoony and doesn't live up to the hype. Most people find the space era a pain in the ass, especially with msg every 5 minutes that your planet is under attack, making it hard to explore the rest of the galaxy. Hopefully a patch will be out so it balances the space era.

And some people that have bought the galatic edition, were missing the bonus dvd. Hope thats not the case for me, since I preordered the galatic edition. That's why I shelled out more for the bonus content. I will be pissed if it is missing like others have reported.

For those of you that have had a chance to play it, can you drag the carcus that you killed like in many videos of the game? I hope they didn't ditch that.

And the fact that you can only install it on your computer a few times is retarded. Its no wonder why people pirate games. Hell you paid $50+ for a game, you should be allowed to install it as many times as you want on your computer.

2 more days until the US version of Spore is released. Probably take another week to arrive at my home.

No... No dragging of the carcus. When you are in the creature stage, you kill other animals to eat (and to make them extinct), after you kill the animal you can feed on it, but not move it, and after you've taken about 3-4 bites it just fades away. When your in the tribal stage and you kill an animal you carry a generic plate/bowl of their flesh away to your "village".


edit: I didn't want to make a new post to say this so... I just wanted to say that the biggest let down is that the game it too "simple." It has a learning curve of like 5 minutes and the AI is terrible. I was just expecting a more complex game... and it really bothers me that I design a vehicle with 8 huge guns on it and then I just get to shoot the same generic shot that every other vehicle gets.

I haven't even bothered in downloading it cause I figure I'll be bored within 10 minutes.
