The only disappointing thing I found is that you can chose to start the game at any stage, so some people can go right ahead and start in space and skip the rest.

/shrug

But! I've pre-ordered and am totaly stoked for it!

Does EA still insist on using that same copy protection that they used for mass effect? If so I'll probrably stick to the DemiGod beta for a while.


Edit:I hate myself, this game does look too good to pass up, GAH! Owell, I'll just download a crack like I did for mass effect

I don't care about copy protection as long as it doesn't hurt my system because there is always a legal no-cd patch. Or the alternative buy the game and if it tells you, you can't install/play it any more because you upgraded to much then torrent it because in my mind once you have purchased the game legally you should be able to install it as many times as you like. No way am I going to buy the game twice just because it thinks I am a criminal!

There's a full copy of Spore floating around on various *cough* torrent *cough* sites, released ahead of time haha. I'm playing it now but I have it pre-ordered hehe

Played it for most of the day yesterday. The IGN reviews I read are mostly spot on with their opinions, but they fail to mention how utterly captivating the game is. This is definitely more of a sandbox game than something any strategy player will find challenging or rewarding, but man, it sure is something to make your creature and watch it go.

Yeppers. And look good too. Framerate is locked at 30 fps. Something you won't notice. I'm playing at 1920x1200 with everything maxed and I have Everest running in the lcd on my G15. CPU and GPU are just idling while playing, like 5-35% loads, temps don't even climg but a few degrees over idle temps. Forcing the AA in CCC blurs out the text so I don't run it. Have Anisio at max though.

Edit: q6600@3.8 and 4850. Vista 64.
