Default Wolfenstein

Just been doing some reading and watching some videos about the new Wolfenstein FPS. I have some REALLY mixed feelings about it.... the whole paranormal thing is kinda cool but slowing down time is getting a wee bit old no matter how you spin it. Being able to shift into another dimension using "the vale" makes me nervous. I am seeing shades of Prey which doesn't fill me with confidence. The game itself looks amazing and I will probably play it regardless I just hope they don't bork it up totally.

I'm looking forward to this coming out as well, more importantly I am hoping that a revamped Wolfenstein ET will shortly follow it, to me that is where the real play value of this game was (not including the original episodes of Wolfenstein and such from the DOS days, as I wasted countless hours on them - when they where new)

Weird story ? This picture will refresh your mind on the first Wolfenstein.

Mechanized Hitler... The whole paranormal just fits well with the new game.

#1 IN reference to Prey, I actually liked the game - it was unique, and FUN to play.

#2) Wolfenstein - didn't they already make a PC game a few years ago, a remake with next gen engien etc ? I still remember it, and it sucked not to mention the ending :D

A game is more than just graphics!

I remember playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein (on my Socket A Duron and Radeon 9550 haha). I thought it was a decent game.

There was a PC remake made, think it was called beyond castle wolfenstein.

Castle Wolfenstein is a stealth-based computer game, the first of its genre, developed by Muse Software for the Apple II. It was first released in 1981 and later ported to DOS, the Atari 8-bit family and the Commodore 64.

The first sequel to Wolfenstein 3D was released only for the PC in 1992. This 20-level game is called Spear of Destiny. Since then, there has been only one sequel to Wolfenstein 3D. In Fall 2001, Return to Castle Wolfenstein was released for both the PC and Mac. A free, online-only follow up to RTCW was released on May 28, 2003; it is called Enemy Territory.

Thanks for the correction it was return to castle wolfenstein that I played not BEYOND...... ;-)

I liked the level at the beginning with that mad scientist going up in smoke ;-) but the game got worse as you progressed - and the ending was really REALLY bad :D

Return to Castle wolfenstein was a great game (at least the multiplayer was, expecially the different mods for it). This one looks like it could be pretty good too.. but the shifting into another dimension does sound sketchy...
