Microsoft is &*#$ing me up the @$$ Ok, so I got a Halo 3 Xbox a while back from Futureshop, never really used it. When I did, it lasted 3 days and died on me. Got the old RROD. Tried 2 times to get it fixed from microsoft, and they have refused it twice now, saying there is a sticker under the faceplate that is broken. I bought this thing new, sealed, and never touched it. What the hell am I supposed to do now....return to Futureshop?? I'm not stupid enough to "tamper" with the thing in the first place.... I hated the Xbox 360, it was a waste of money. And now, even more so. I'm even more pissed |
Go back to FS and ask for the manager. Tell them they must have sold you a previously owned XBOX bc the sticker was broken and now MS wont accept it. Chances are they will replace it, they have no choice. |
yeah.... time to dig for recipt... |
I used to be a floor manager at FS some years ago and I just gave people what they wanted. :D |
I avoid buying ANYTHING from FS - they often take returned items and put it back on the shelves to resell - and before any employee argues with me, I've witnessed this myself on 2 different FS locations. I also purchased items myself that were opened and used. When buying anything it is your responsibility to properly inspect the item, and if you notice ANY tampering return it RIGHT AWAY for a refund, and find one that has no signs of tampering. It is a real gamble when you buy something from Best BUy or FS. Another thing I've noticed sometimes the distributors open boxes to put their stickers or to test items and don't handle it properly. |
See, I dont know what the return policy is, but I think I bought it at least 8 months ago. Wish me luck? |

Next time, inspect the item carefuly ! A compromised sticker should have been obvious ! The policy is 30 days, and 14 days on other items, check in store to make sure. As to software/games, NO returns/refunds, unless disc is broken or software is defective and you want to exchange it for a new one. |
They said the sticker is under the faceplate. Why would I remove the faceplate to look for damage..... That in itself would be voiding my warranty, would it not..... |

Well if your out of warranty and can't get it fixed, might as well crack it open and try and fix it yourself... Try out all those random things people said they did to fix their 360s |
