yeah, I wont be preordering but I will be watching this game very closely. I am a big fan of RPGs and fantasy type things, magic dragons demons all something you only find in fiction and imagination, my imagination is far too over active but I like it that way.

I can see a pre-order of a couple of months, but 5 months would have me worried about vapourware.
Bioware wouldn't do that to me (I hope). I know where they live, and besides I'm almost right in their back yard.

Although the Bioware site does show a release date of October 20th, almost two weeks prior to D2D's. EDIT: There was a difference between the two sites but both now show Nov 3, 2009 as the release date.

Default Sneak Peak: Dragon Age Sound Track

I never get too excited about game sound tracks, but this is actually sounding kind of good. Might have to purchase some decent head phones.

Dragon Age Origins - Home

not sure where you are seeing the October date, I see Nov 3 on that site. And I have heard nothing of multiplayer, and as with most RPGs they will not have one I suspect.

I'm taking this from experience, mass effect which was made by bioware did not have one, bioshock, KOTOR, Oblivion, Fallout 3, all also did not have multiplayer. The 2 do not go together

Depends on how you define RPG.

Many folks would define Diablo II as an RPG, and it certainly did have a multiplayer function. No reason why a game like oblivion couldn't have it either.

Mass effect was bomb. Amazing title. Bioware has entered my good graces after ME, (although i despise the fail that is bioshock), so i will be purchasing this at launch ;)

DA:O is a single player game only. Bioware says that each different origin will play quite differently and follow some unique story lines, dialogue, and choices.

A game has to be pretty good for me to play it more than once, but there are several that I have played through multiple times. I like to leave at least six months or a year between plays though. Looking forward to this one.

I'll agree that oblivion could have theoretically had mp, so could fallout3 theoretically. The fairly open world and the unrushed story line, but then it would just become another MMO. But yes, RPGs stop being RPGs when they go online, they either become FPS like Bioshock2 will be, or an MMO.

Honestly, I didnt like MassEffect, the main story was good but everything else was lacking, the side missions were repetitive, dull and unimaginative, the vehicle was bad, and combat was sub par. I'm hoping for better things from ME2, better enviroments and combat for the most part, but by no means was ME1 a good game, so if you are saying it bombed as in it was bad, then yes, I'd agree with you, that and the DRM made me regret buying it.

And I couldnt agree more with misterlarry's statement on replaying, has to be good and cannot be back to back, though it only takes me a few months

Can't agree with that muse108dc. Mass Effect was more fun than almost any other game that came out that year! Sure it wasn't perfect, but it was really good. I loved getting the upgrades and the shoot outs were fun. I would have liked open ended missions, but maybe that is in ME2.
