Game recomendations?

some other titles i enjoyed though they won't really tax your setup. The oiginal Deus EX :(i still find my self playing it) and teh freespace series if you liek wingcommander ish games. FEAR and the assoctiated expansions. Also if you like the whole rts sim city style you will want to check out SPORE when it comes out.

I find myself playing Dungeon Siege(the original) lately. It is not a massive addiction but yea, it has got a claw or two into me and so far has provided a bit over 24 hours of gameplay.
Danger from the Deep is interesting but I can never remember the keyboard layout so I have difficulty using it.

yesss Diablo 2 FTW! Don't forget the expansion though, because nothing says f*@$ you like beating the crap out of baal. speaking of which i need to buy the game again it seems two years after playing have lost my cd's and the keys. I'll see you guys on battle.net ;)

Haha yea man. If you want to buy it and permastore it to an account, buy off the Blizzard Store. Kinda like Steam. That what I did 2 nights ago :D. I reinstalled it because D3 got me excited. And I'm actually enjoying playing D2 the way it was meant to be played.

EDIT: YES! DON'T FORGET THE EXPANSION!!!! Lord of Destruction.

+ 1 for Oblivion... possibly the greatest game ever made... (next to flight simulator) i wish they would make it a mmorpg

I know you don't like online games but for what 10 bucks I got Counter Strike Source and have put a few hundred hours into that game.

Oblivion is a good RPG.
Try some of the Call of Duties for single player. Really like some of the first ones.
By far some of the best FPS titles are the Half Life games. At least in my book.
Peggle Extreme is another cheap title that can give you a few hours of fun.

lcdguy, Holy crap! I forgot I already have Dues EX. I got it free with my first ever Sound Blaster (Platinum) along with a bunch of other games (Theif maybe). I had Windows 98 and a Radeon 300 SE but could never get them to install correctly. I know I still have them somewhere, I'll dig them out and throw them at my XP. Thanks for the reminder! Free games!
Freespace I've never heard of, again, I will look. Spore is getting alot of hype so I'll be checking into it for sure.

belgolas, It's not that I don't like online games. I just haven't done it yet. I tried twice. Call of Duty 4 kicked me off because I didn't have PunkBuster installed (I do now) and when I tried TF2 my mic didn't work (does now). I'm going to play, I just need to get over the fact that I am going to get owned in such a spectacular fashion. I've played through COD4 three times now and love it so I should go online. I have the Orange Box and have played all the Half Life series once and really enjoyed it so I'll play it again. Peggle Extreme I got free with something and is good for passing a little time without getting too involved in a game.

I work for the Walton familly (Wal-Mart, midnights) so you know I'm not rich. I'll buy these games as I can and let you all know how I enjoyed them. Thanks for all your replies, I have a great base of games to look into now.

I did just get Medal of Honour: Airborne. I know it got mixed reviews but for $15 I just tacked it onto and order I already was making. Hope I like it enough.

Hell for 15 bucks I think you will love Medal of Honor Airborne.

Civilization 4 with Beyond the Sword Expansion (It will get you addicted)

Company of Heroes with Opposing Fronts Expansion (Amazing experience...)

Portal (Just try them out.. hehe)

Half-Life 2 with Episode 1 and 2 Expansion (You'll be surprised how real a game can be)

*Buy the Orange Box for above 2 games

World of Warcraft (Still the most balanced and perfect MMORPG out there... But mind ya, this thing's like crack)

Mabinogi (Another MMORPG that gives a strong niche due to its unique fighting system. This one's a lesser of a crack than WoW but still requires you to play alot)

I wouldn't recommend Diablo 2 because the graphic is too outdated and battle.net service has some lag issues. (I doubt they're still maintaining the server after 8 freaking years..) Also you will get frustrated from the endless boss-huntings for items and runes... Try Neverwinter Nights 2 for better graphics with D&D twist.

Bioshock and Crysis for one-time awesome experience. (They are the games with best graphic out there so far)
All very good games.

I think nowdays console games dominate the gaming world (GTA4, MGS4, etc). Maybe things will change once Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 come out... :) (Hail Blizzard!)
