What Game's do You Play?

Well whats everyone playing lately?
For me it's been 2142 for the last couple of weeks, although FPS's arnt my forte. I usually play rts or rpg's.

I've been completely stuck on Supreme Commander BETA for the last couple weeks. God it's good. Probably the best gaming experience I've had since I first picked up Warcraft II.

Normally it's more about the FPS games though for me.

I'm still stuck in the 90's playing diablo II. :)

Probably going to check out oblivion & NWNII over the holidays.

Speaking of the 90's, I wish I could play good ol' red alert on my computer-- I miss that game. Just doesn't work with XP I guess, although I've never realy looked into the problem. Playing Battle for Middle Earth 2 right now-- just got it for 20 bucks. As soon as my new system arrives, I'm running out to get Company of Heroes, and I'm looking forward to some of those eye-candy games coming out next year for Vista like Alan Wake, just to challenge the hardware, and for the visual thrill.

I worry about what seems to be a trend towards not releasing the big games for pc. I suppose it makes financial sense to MS and Sony to try to pigeon hole the studios into producing exclusively for consoles so that if people want to play the games, they've got to buy one, because games or not, the masses are still going to buy computers- ergo- windows vista and office, and they're still going to buy sony laptops which are no good for games anyway-- hopefully this is not what's happening.

I doubt that Microsoft is giving up on PC gaming. Sales in OS for home use would plummet.

As it stands, the main reason DIY builders use any flavour of Windows is for gaming support.

If all I wanted to do with my computer was productivity related I'd be running one of the many free Linux distros and wouldn't have dropped the coin for 3 XP disks this year.

Vista is going to put much more emphasis on gaming than any previous version of Windows from what I understand. Microsoft's goal is to try to make the Windows Vista platform as much like a console as possible.

just like DX9, D3D10 won't be adopted to be worthwhile on games for at least 8+ months that couldn't be accomplished with DX9c.

although some of the developers do have interesting concepts, what's going to be the first D3D10 only title? Anyone? Bueller?

Oh, I'm waiting for Spore to be released - Will Wright looks like he's outdone himself.

Now that I've got my new vid card I'm playing oblivion.

Freaking amazing graphics (well.... how would I know, but they look good to me.... :) ).

Been a long time since I lost 5 hours to a game.

I'm currently playing WoW. I was playing Rappelz before that and SilkRoad Online before that. I got sick of how long it takes to level in SRO.
