Default Civilization: Beyond Earth

Just announced. Slated for release fall of this year. Looks promising. They have large shoes to fill after Civ V. Let's hope they're up to the task.

I think the only civ I haven't bought and played was 2 so this will be on my to-buy list, but in the back of my mind will be my experience with alpha centuri which wasn't positive. :)

I really liked AC, especially the ability to spec out your own units. The Mind Worms and that red stuff were rather annoying since I love to use bore holes for energy and minerals.

I love the Civ series, but it definitely needed a shake up. I'm eager to see how this plays out.

i hope they add a little optimization to the end game. My rig really slowed down near the end of some games.

You have to wonder why this hasn't happened before now. Alpha Centauri is probably the best game that fire axis made. 14 years is a long wait for a sequel. But you can have high hopes for this one, I mean the only misstep fire axis has made was not releasing mod tools or at least a map editor for XCOM

Ya I remember Civ 5 AI takes forever for their turn even with the Skip Animation on. I hope they'll fix it.
