As bad as this sounds I found that using an Xbox controller to be way better than traditional kb/mouse for now.

Combat in third person is impossible though so I only took those since they look a lot better than the current hud which basically blocks your vision and the screenshots turn out fairly bad.

Man this game is CPU bottlenecking hard for me. CPU usage on a 4.5GHz 4770K w/ HT off is @ 100% non-stop during flight. This is @ 1920x1080 very high. Ram usage is from 1.5GB to 2GB. It reads about 40GB of data from launching the game to actual flight.

Game still takes a long time to load even on my SSD raid. Though it is to be expected as they haven't done much optimization.

It still takes 30 - 45 seconds even when the game is being loaded 100% from ram cache.

comstab is shoirt for Command Stablization which is the game's form of traction control in space and prevents your ship from "sliding" when turning. Gforce safeties is just the system that prevents you from blacking or redding out due to gforces while taking corners too fast. Both can be turned off with Cntrl and CapsLock.

Controls and flight model are still very early from the feel of it, I've been struggling with my HOTAS with sensitivity and the fact that firing the Gatling guns on my Hornet general results in my changing targets. Found M/K to be the best setup currently, partly due to the mouse moving the reticule around

Load times are long but not too too bad from my HDD, but like a lot of things it will be improved and I'm not concerned they'vev got a solid start.

I have to say though, watching a Vanduul fly right past my cockpit is beautiful, or breaking off a piece of said vanduul and having that wiz by infront of me, just wow. Also, continuing to fight with a damaged ship, missing a wing, having the tail broken and missing.... I've never enjoyed being shot up quite so much.

So finally got time to play some of this. I am having a lot of fun! It is awesome how damage affects your ship etc. One thing I don't like is it is a bit too dark and hard to see sometimes. Also I don't like that your guns can overheat and stop working till you respawn.

Graphics are awesome yet run really smooth though I suspect once I upgrade my monitor things will be different.

Once all the bugs and glitches get ironed out I can see this truly being the BDSSE!

It doesn't. It just is showcasing the ship competition finalists. Plus a few minor changes.
