Default Free MMO suggestions

Hey all,

Looking for a free online MMO game that's fun to play and doesn't feel dated, clunky or just plain dumb (I.E. lame turn-based stuff).

Thus far I've tried:
- The Old Republic (my favorite for now, but only 4 classes)
- Neverwinter (fun to play and nice targeting controls, but old looking game)
- Vindictus
- Marvel Heroes (awful awful control scheme, no custom characters?)
- Tera Rising (interesting characters but too WoW-like, within seconds of starting my screen was covered in garbage)

Anyone have other suggestions I should try?

Just MMO, or will an action RPG do the trick for you? Path of exile has gotten both good and bad reviews (seems to be a love it or hate it kind of thing) but it's free and AFAIK isn't PTW.....

Rift and Terra, both great games in their own ways, RIFT is or can be mostly single player experience really whereas Terra when you get to mid-high levels it turns into with most characters a need to be in a party type deal or you get arse handed to you, they both have good and bad points as do all games. the one game I miss is Two Moons, not sure if still out there, but that was brutal fun.

RuneScape 2007. Yes it's not free but if you play the free version, well us old schoolers don't like new RuneScape. I'm sure the free RuneScape is decent though.

I think Soullessone was hyping Tera for awhile IIRC. Can't help you myself, my longest MMO experience was about 1 month of FFXI and 2 weeks of FFXIV Reborn and .... they're just not my thing I guess.

Path of Exile has one of the largest character customizations you'll run into. If by customization you mean how they look who cares?

But the skills trees and such are massive.

But I find most free MMOs are SEVERLY lacking.

GW2 is the best MMO out there IMO. You need to buy it first but at least there is no subscription.

Interesting interesting...

I also tried "C9" which is kinda fun "Action-RPG" MMO. Kinda like a Devil may cry RPG, not bad.

Still not quite what I was wishing for I guess... Oh well.

Neverwinter still seems the best so far, if only the graphics and customization were better.
Ill keep looking.
