My System Specs

Default Recommended Racing Games

I've made it to the credits in Dirt Showdown and Dirt3 and am wondering which racing game to buy next.

Keeping in mind my system specs what racing games do your recommend?

I enjoy the race, the stunt driving not so much (don't want any more gymkhana). I did like the smash up derby that was fun. So I'm thinking something along the lines of stock car bang 'em up racing.

Don't think I'd be keen on F1 or Grand Prix.

I also want to know if the game will play on three screens using Eyefinity like Dirt does. I really enjoy that aspect. I suppose I'd have to check the game website and see if I can find that in the specs. I guess that will mean sticking with more recent games (2010 forward??).

I also want control of the audio - I'm afraid my taste in music does not fit the demographic profile for gamers so I turn the music volume way down or off. Is if fair to expect most games will give me this option?

Default Wide Screen Game Forum

Found a site dedicated to wide screen play WSGF | "Wider is Better"
Sadly they rate the Rally 2005 game as not suited to multi-screen play. :(

WSGF says that GTL is not multi-monitor compatible, but there are people who use multiple displays with it:

Lots and lots of mods available for GTL too. :D

NASCAR Racing 2003 has some good mods available for it too.

Keep in mind however that these are sims, not crash 'n bash arcade racers.

For arcade racers, try FlatOut 1, 2, and Ultimate Carnage. But not #3

The 1970 AAR Cuda was so much fun to slide around Japan Docks A1, and SanFran!

GRID2 is coming out sometime IIRC, but they pulled the cockpit view so I am not very interested.

It is sorta sad. GRID 1 is juuust barely arcade enough that I generally but not always use an automatic transmission in it. However anything closer to a sim and it is manual+clutch all the way. :/

Shift 2, if you want something with a sim flavor but still confidently an arcade racer. It supports Eyefinity.

Shift 2 is a great Gran Turismo style racing game. I personally love it.

Playing Shift 2 now - it plays nicely on three screens - and I'm no where near good enough to go to full sim mode so I'm looking for something that mimics reality but still lets a noob like me have fun making it around the track.

Considering Grid next. Found a retro package "Grid/Fuel/Dirt- Racing Mega Pack" down by d'Bay for about $12 + $4 shipping from the UK.

Isn't that arcade style racing?
