Relic makes the CoH series, it's SEGA that bought the brand.

Also the beta has been out for two weeks now. Along with the new Steam version of Company of Heroes (replaces the THQ splashscreen with SEGA and no more Relic Online.)

Anyone try running the in game benchmark? It ran for me but didn't give any results. There are two related log files in the main directory but both just said it ran and ended lol.

Also, if memory serves, the graphics don't look much better than the original. Just a first impression. I haven't done any comparisons or anything.

Yeah graphics seem to be on par with the originals. IE: I run everything on max and don't get any issues. It also loads super quick. I'm ok with that. It doesn't need to be any better as it looks great anyway. I'd rather a game that runs perfect on high on 100s of millions of PCs rather than a few million high end ones. This will mean more players to slaughter online.

I agree. But then, if you don't have games and hardware pushing the envelope you get stagnation. Though, I think that not every game needs to do that in order to push graphics tech.

It does make me wonder why they bothered with a benchmark though. /shrug.

Here is hoping the game is as fun as the original.

Yeah this series to me is more about the gameplay than the graphics. They made lots of improvements playability wise I can say for sure.
Perhaps the beta is dx9 where it will be dx11 as it moves towards release? Or is that not how things work?

No, it's quite possible. I forget what game, but you can play it right from DX8 all the way up to DX11. I was thinking that may well be what is going on here.

Edit: Tomb Raider.
