I won't agree or disagree since we all like different types, Psychonauts was a royal pain in the ass for me because I'm not a fan of platforming, or that silly cartoon style. Infinite wasn't really my thing either, and I don't think it ever will be. Don't get me wrong, I love psychological thrillers like Alan Wake, FEAR, Amnesia, but I won't put Infinite on a pedestal towering above all the rest.

Yeah, the problem with these games is that the devs use a secret recipe to give you chills but the ending generally means nothing or has a pretty dark hidden signification o_o.

This game DID have a dark hidden signification and once you finish the game and read that link I posted you realize how all these small things in the game get tied together

Of course not,the story was interresting and i still loved the game, there was symbols thought, nobody can deny it,was still a great game, but i think they used the philosophical aspect the wrong way.

Found that on a website,it is true.

A.D = Anna Dewitt = Anno Domini = the Mark of the False Shepherd

B.C = Before Christ = Booker Dewitt/Jeremiah Comstock = Booker Comstock

Jeremiah Comstock = J.C = Jesus Christ

A.D = Mark of the False Shepherd = Shepherd = Christ

Booker Dewitt/Jeremiah Comstock is Jesus Christ/Prometheus/Lucifer/The Light Bringer/Over thrower of the Demiurgeís Old World Order

America = The Demiurgeís creation = Old World Order/The Matrix of Control

Columbia = The Illuminatiís/Luciferís New World Order where we achieve our own Godhood

Bookerís baptism = Christ/Luciferís/Prometheusís sacrifice. Baptism = symbolism for dying and resurrection

The Lutece twins = Duality = androgyny = The Demiurgeís use of duality, which the Matrix is built upon, a double edged sword. It gives rise to a savior/martyr figure over and over, which Anna alludes to when she shows the infinite lighthouses/Raptures/Columbias.

Anna = us, the human condition, our unrealized (and by the end of the game, realized) potential.

Basically the games story is anti-illuminati/Gnostic/Christ. The narrative informs us that we are being used by Christ/Lucifer/Prometheus to undo the Demiurgeís Old World Order, and that upon achieving our ascendance we should use our power to undo the Fall/sacrifice of Prometheus. Kill Booker at baptism, prevent the Fall/ sacrifice of Prometheus/disconnect from the Demiurge.

Now,that's just my opinion but one thing is sure, the game isn't "clean"... Now ,that's just what i think. I am aware of the moral of the game which is kinda dark, i agree the game was still well made...

Did you send me a document?

Btw finished the game a long time ago^^

Wow bliz, that almost inspired me to play it through again!
edit: I did think there were too many 'gaps' in the story linking Booker and Comstock, my little brain couldn't fill them in as I went along. Plus I play about 5 other games in the meantime :P

Funny how this old thread shows up and links a gameplay video, with Elizabeth doing things she didn't ever do in the final game.
Bioshock Infinite
Why can't we embed videos like that anymore?

Huh, interesting. I always considered the game more a take on out of control capitalism and socialism/communism than religion per say. I mean religion was used by the demagogues to keep the average joe inline but I didnt consider it in that light. Rather it was tool and a means to an end...not the end itself. Probably because they even had a proles uprising ala Mao/Stalin in there...so just considered it a modern retelling of Animal Farm...and 1984.

Good game with flawed mechanics, but still worth replaying for the light bringer angle. :P
