Hmm, interesting, I didn't mind the effects at all, especially the hunks of metal flying off when you took out an enemy mech.

I've been in the Hawken game since Alpha 2 and its a good game but has TOOOOOOO many issues. They don't even have a GOOD matchmaking system..

They also boast support for Occulus.. pfft

I think it is a bit over done but it still looks better with PhsyX then without.

I agree. It's better with the physics. But the particle effects could be toned down a notch or two. The explosions are what it's all about imo. At least nVidia is trying to really push their tech. AMD...not so much.

That is not real time. I bet it was recorded at 2FPS. I played around with crysis so would know that it is much slower than using a gpu.

Ergo the "Extreme". It is real time. But I'd wager you are close to being right on the FPS. My point is that physics on AMD hardware is just as good as nVidia. It is that AMD are too lazy/cheap to really push it in games. Not sure why. Lazy? Cheap? Both?

IMO, in certain parts the particle effect is way overdone but it still looks killer in most cases. :)

What got me was not the amount of particles, but the shape of the metal "particles" in the explosions / stepping on stuff. Every chunk is a flat sheet with jagged edges... Is everything in that game world made of non-tempered glass that's been painted black?
They could've taken a page out of Red Faction's book on how to make big structures fall apart.

I've been playing this game, it's actually pretty damn good. Much better than the mechwarrior reboot, unfortunately.
