SWTOR was my first foray into MMORPG's. Played about a month and lost interest. MMO gameplay is so stupid. Endless slog for stuff. Run around all you want, just don't get too close to enemies or they will go "aggro". Otherwise they just stand there. Large open world just means sparse and takes forever to get somewhere. And combat is a stupid click fest.

The game had a lot of potentially, and the free to play model of swtor is an absolute joke, essentially if you want to do anything in it you need to unlock it, aka buy it.

The other problem is the game wasn't decided for millions upon millions of subs. All they need is somewhere around 250-500 thousand subs and they turn a health profit, which is what they developed the game for. It was never developed as a WoW killed but it was pitched, thanks to EA as one,

Well, here's the reality check: Bioware screwed the pooch on ANOTHER title....as I predicted.
Yes Sky... I play Lord Of The Rings Online and it was full of people who said they were going to leave for SWTOR and the forums were full of the same.

Many of those people returned only to say the same thing about Rift... :p

I really, really wish they had released this game as single player only. I am a BioWare die hard, but I am getting more and more wary of their products after Dragon Age 2 and SWTOR...Is it the EA influence? It's got to be.

I played hard when it launched, got to 50 on my Jedi Knight completely enjoying the storyline along the way, genuinely had fun, and was having a blast with my Imperial Agent....then I just, stopped caring as I am wont to do with MMOs.

Ah well. I stil see no incentive in going back to play as Free 2 Play.

I only ever play MMORPG's for a couple months and then get bored of them but Rift was pretty good. I liked the invasions where multiple groups teamed up and worked on clearing the area. I thought that was pretty neat. Once you get to a certain level it is definitely a grindfest, but what MMORPG isn't really? They want you to grind to max level so you pay for your sub while doing it.

As for Bioware, they are a shell of what they used to be. I'm pretty sure the founders of Bioware left the company a couple years after EA took over. I think even some the SWOTOR devs have left them recently.

Not left, canned/fired/downsized courtesy of EA
