1942 is now free to play on origin...if you don't have or never played this masterpiece you should grab it

I just redeemed it and played for about 30 seconds. Can't believe I used to think that was a good game.

Don't need Origin I still have a cd's. I also still have it installed. I loved the game but it just needs modern movement as it feels clunky.

Used to play this a lot when it was new. It never caught on at my university (at the time) though, since most peoples' computers couldn't handle it. :)

I will have to download it at some point.

I've had the game for quite a few years now. One of the instructors in the College I attended has a Hamachi server where he and a bunch of us students (current or not) play on every Friday and Saturday night. We mostly play regular with a mix of DCM and EoD mod maps. We all enjoy the game very much, despite how old and how outdated the graphics are. Never had one problem running it on a current PC besides for the lack of resolution selection. Works on Windows 95 up through to 8 perfect, probably the main reason why we picked the game to play on weekends.
