I think this is a brillant idea. Valve has admitted to getting too many submissions and this seems like the best way, in my mind at least, to crowdsource their work for them. Just sorting through them is half the battle, and its by done by the people who are actually going to be paying for the games.

This should really help streamline the approval process for indie games on steam

Looks like it's Valve's way of allowing people to advertise and release their games to the masses using steam.

More a way of Steam to make more money without having to make a significant investment themselves. Typical if you ask me.

(I admit my view of Steam is baised as I have had nothing but trouble since my acquiring my first game requireing Steam (FEAR). I foolishly bought FEAR3 and have been trying to get it installed since February - the ticket has been open since Feb 24th with no resolution from Steam support who are "investigating the issue" while getting me to do the same tests etc over and over.)
