Funny how they use the Steam logo for this story. Maybe now we can get rid of the games on our accounts that we'll never play again. About damn time.

This will mean nothing in North America and Steam, for one, will just blacklist your account and move on their merry way forgetting all about the hundreds of dollars you spent.

I'm not sure how much of a difference this will make with new(er) games.

Older downloads used to be pretty much the same as the retail version (other than the download part.... :) ) with the reg key either emailed to the customer or somehow available through the game server (like Steam). More recent games I've paid/dl'd didn't come with a reg key and were tied to something like my battlenet account... there is no reg key at all, the reg key is my account, and thus no way to transfer individual games unless I want to transfer/sell the whole account.

greenmangaming.com, to a certain degree, already let you do this. Obviously you could only sell it for the value they set and doesn't apply to games requiring steam (and presumably origin).

This has been debated to death in the steam forums for quite a while, I for one hope it comes true eventually, even for a minimal refund if it clears up a long list of shitty games. I Suppose the indie bundles and gifts would make it a complicated process. Another thing on their list of features to add.
