THAC0 is long gone with the release of D&D 3.0, haven't played much since then myself.

Kinda, its still there in principle. Just done differently, and definitely easier to manage.

Now AC goes up, not down. You take your total + to hit, roll a D20, and add them, if you roll higher then their AC, you hit. Simple!
