Well I figured out how to only build medium density commercial (you can't do heavy in the beta). Parks, they help raise the land value of not just residential, plop a few here and there and only see medium density commercial buildings

Highest city I had in the beta was just under 30k population. Didn't get a screencap of that one but here's a circle city I just made. I didn't get to quite finish it within the hour and for some reason throughout my whole playthrough my Coal Plant was stuck permanently selected.

Hopefully users raise a big enough stink to eliminate the always-online requirement. If not, hopefully a crack is developed and released to that end. I have no qualms about cracking games I've payed for to play them the way I want to play them.

And that is why I am not buying the damn thing. I refuse to buy any game that forces always on for single player. When will these damn companies realize that this kind of DRM does nothing to stop piracy and only affects the people willing to pay for it. They are the paying customers that will not be able to play it on a plane or when your internet at home goes out or anything like that. DRM does not protect against piracy, it really only affect sales, negatively. I know I would be the first to get this if it was not always online crap.

Online activation when you install it, ok. Online check when you start a multiplayer game, ok. But single player experience shouldn't have to connect to the internet.
