Default How do i completely remove Skyrim from my computer?

Okay,

Long story short. I installed a 'borrowed' copy of Skyrim to see if I would like the first few bits of the game, before plonking down $60. That didn't work. So I went out and purchased a hard copy of the game.

I installed skyrim via the CD Rom. It brings up the first option screen, determines my graphics settings (Very High), and then I hit PLAY. It runs the first demo screen, loads for a few seconds, and then crashes to my desktop. I've tried starting it on the lower settings, to no avail.

I then went to my programs in explorer, and removed Skyrim. it actually removes the game via steam, but leaves the game in the Steam library. I then reinstalled it via Steam (downloading the game in the process) and reinstalled, hoping for it to work this time. Alas, same problem as before.

So, I'm assuming that by somehow installing my 'borrowed' copy of skyrim before installing the legit one, I've somehow corrupted the legit files.

How can i completely erase Skyrim from my computer and start over?

you need to go into your C:\Users\( whichevernameyou use)appdata folder and delete the game from there in my case it is C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local.
But if you did a normal uninstall the reg key is probably still there so uninstall the game like normal then use ccleaner to dio a registry clean it should get rid of that.
oh and also did you update the game after you installed it?

I am using Cat 11.10 drivers and for my Phenom II 955, M5A99X EVO motherboard, and Radeon 6870, these drivers have worked very well for BF3, RO2 as well as Skyrim, I have not tried 11.11 as there was no real boost stated in the release notes for it.

But it is good idea to have updated drivers for everything if you can, also after the game is installed tell steam to check for missing/corrupted files, defrag the game through steam and such, as well you could try CC cleaner as there may be something amiss in registry. Is there any crash message that it gives you or anything along that line???

I would try sending a help message to steam, they may be able to tell you what is going on?

you didn't do enough restore points to get back what had after updates since first restore point done

note when making a restore point is your taking a snap shot of data on HDD , TIME DATE at that moment
