Default Dragon Age II on Steam?

Was DA II ever available on steam? I saw the PC version advertised at FS for $30 and was surpised that I couldn't find it on steam when I tried to do a price check...

Did steam pull it when EA offered FS a bargain price?

I have my doubts. If an EA game isn't on there now I would bet it isn't going to be on there ever.

Yes, it used to be on Steam. It got pulled down recently. Happened in late July, I think.

Insert theory here about EA games systematically being pulled off Steam and EA's upcoming Origin store.

Yea, it got pulled. I only noticed cause it was on my wishlist and I saw that the price disappeared. Then I tried to go the the steam page and it wouldn't show. Really this whole thing with EA pulling games because they want to control dlc and patches bugs me.

I never liked Steam.

Try D2D.

valve is wanting a cut of the dlc sale price and a more unified experience for patches and updates as well, ea wants complete control over updates and doesn't want to share profits. Hence we get origin and I stop buying ea games again. There's also the fact that es wants have its own "steam" for its games and that I'm sure also goes against steams dev agreement.

I want origin to fail and die but with battlefield 3 and kotor MMO both requiring origin that isn't going to happen any time soon.

I've actually got it on steam, though now I'm worried about ever uninstalling it...

Hrmmmm..... wish I had been paying more attention. Does this mean that I'm stuck back in the 1990's and will only be able to install it on a single PC? If so, I guess that's the last EA game I purchase.

I got it from D2D and had no issues installing it on my new PC (had it installed previously on the old PC).

Just wait and see. With EA using their own store I will not be surprized to start to see more and more intrusive DRM with their titles. Before long they will find reasons to pull titles from other places as well and will want everything on their own store. If that happens and they succeed then it will be us gamers who lose as other companies will open their stores and follow suit. Then everything will have to be purchased directly from the publishers and they will keep a tight lease on the games.

In other words, I want origin to fail. EA should stick to making games; wait that is not right, they don't even do that anymore. They just by out the companies that are making the great games and then pollute them, like Bioware.

Hmm, ok enough ranting by me.

Edit: On a sidenote, sswilson that post I quoted of yours was your 11,111 post. I just thought it was cool. Only 100,000 more for the next time it is all ones.
