Far Cry on Vista X64 - HDR-AA Pics.

Hey guys!

Just installed Far Cry on Vista X64 and applied Patch 1.3 and then the un-official HDR+AA Patch and here is the result :











All maxed out of course and 1920x1200 Resolution. The in-game AA and AF modes sucks tho. AF does not seem to be working much... Oh well.

So how do you like? Makes the game looks even better eh! Not bad @ all for an old game i say!

Awe man, now I need to play Farcry... AGAIN, and it's so damn long! I never tried it with the HDR patch, looks sweet :)

I still really like the hiding system in this game. I think it is better than crysis. That game doesn't look that bad but only on low graphics settings for crysis. Man have things gone crazy in a few years.

Someone should re-make farcry with the cry 2 engine. We can make up some story about jack carver finding the nano suit in the jungle or something.

If nothing else, at least I would have a game of normal length to play. I was so disappointed by how short Crysis was!

Farcry was probably the hardest FPS I have ever played... and I really liked it. So many people complain that the AI is too astute at spotting you from 200 yards away when you are hunched behind a rock and picking you off with an automatic rifle. Well I found the game definitely challenging and sometimes it was downright hard on a Medium difficulty! I can't imagine finishing it on Realistic? Crysis on the other hand, on Delta, was kind of easy and once you get in the alien ship... the game is all downhill. So IMO it is even shorter than short cuz I don't play past killing the Korean psycho guy anymore :\

The other thing I love about Farcry is the music that plays in the background of the menu screen. Man it was so cool as the camera moves through the jungle and the tune builds till the drums are rolling away and the brass is blaring that haunting melody. Very cool! The graphics are still good IMO. Ok they are not Crysis good but the jungles, water etc... look very nice. Boy I better finish Doom 3 soon cuz I wanna play Farcry

yeah crysis after the crazy Korean guy gets pretty lame. I think that I am going to like farcry 2 a lot from what I have seen. No crazy mutant things.

I didn't mind the mutants. The whole Dr. Moreau meets Indiana Jones/James Bond thing was corny in a good way too IMHO. Farcry 2 looks really awesome and it is at the top of my 2008 must have list. I only buy 2-3 games a year at launch and pay full price and for sure FC2 is one of them.
