Default Diablo 3...requires constant internet connection

It was released today that Diablo 3 requires a constant online connection...even for single player. As well they are going to have a regional real money AH. Those tidbits have a lot of people up in arms. I did read somewhere that they will have a regular in game AH as well.

Having to be always connected isn't going to bother me much, as long as I can play the game single player. Not likely to play any multi player at all.

Be hard to "patch" it if you have to authenticate the game everytime you want to play.

The more I read, the less interested in playing the game I become.

Well they did it with Starcraft 2 so not much of a surprise, though you were able to play offline with a offline account. Paying for items is pretty retarded, but people even did that with D2 IIRC, on ebay. Same goes with other games and ingame items. Should still be a sweet game though. There's also Torchlight 2 which will still support mods, LAN play, and will be a one time purchase. :)

Guess it depends on how the always online thing works, but I honestly don't see what the big issue is. There are plenty of games that require a constant connection and no one bitches about those. I didn't read the article, but does this mean you can sell items "legally" through Blizzard for actual cash. Or is it blizzard putting up items people can bid on?

Meh. I always played on Battlenet with Diablo II anyway, so I'm really not that fussed.
