Default Lag Problem

Hello everyone.
Since a couple days ago, I've noticed a bit of lag at Black Ops, since this summer camp sale event.
I always ran my game at the full settings and resolutions (without the sync every frames thing) and never tested any lag during online/single player gameplay.
My system specs are:
Intel Core i5 760 2.93GHz
Nvidia GTX 470
4GB Kingston Memory 1333Mhz
1TB Samsung Hard Drive
Gigabyte P55-UD3L Motherboard
650 Watts PSU
My graphic's card drivers are fully updated and for my Internet connection I'm using it by cable.
Thanks.

does black ops have dedicated servers? It could be the influx of new players, but if black ops uses dedicated servers that shouldn't impact it.

If you were able to play online in the past without issues, I don't know what else it could be.

Exactly, Black Ops uses dedicated servers.
But in the past, even at online, the game worked fine. I'm getting pissed with this :s

Well it is possible that the login servers and the such are being overly taxed with an increase in people. I know TF2, since going f2p, seems to have 'hiccup' issues. As in it will be smooth but every once in a while (sometime more often) the server will lag for a second or 2 and next thing you know you are dead.

It will probably be back to normal in a week.

Oh never mind, it's normal again.
I opened the case, and don't know how, but the graphics card was attached to the PCI-E 8x slot, and not to the 16x :s
Maybe last time I unplugged the graphics from the PCI-E slot to clean it up, I was wrong and put it at the 8x slot inadvertently.
