Even on greater difficulties, the combat wasn't as tactical as in DAO IMO. This was also the case with ME2. The combat is simplified beyond what a slider can fix. But that's the state of gaming these days and isn't likely to change in the near future.
I really liked that it was a city adventure and thought the story, characters and voice casting were excellent.
I was disappointed in the dungeons and limited number of "boss" encounters. I felt this game had way too little content to have launch DLC.
Bioware engines now feel grossly out of date to me: too static, not seamless enough, poor physics and poor performance for the visual experience.
I almost would have liked the game better without the combat - but I did enjoy building my character.
Although I enjoyed the game a lot, my infatuation with Bioware is officially over. They're just another AAA game studio to me now - as opposed to a company of AD&D geeks making games for AD&D fans.
