MMO recommendation?

Just looking for some information on any mmo/rpg games that I should look into. I played WoW vanilla up to Cata but got tired of that so I would like a new game to try until Guild Wars 2 comes out.

F2P or not doesn't really matter to me. Is everquest any good? If so which one do you buy to get up to date expansions? Any other games someone would recommend trying out?

Thanks :bananafunky:

I played EQ2 for 4 of the 7 years it has been out. I like it, but I also played EQ1 before so everything was familiar already. On steam you can get all but the most recent expansion for $20 total or $40 for everything. Destiny of Velious gives you everything up to date.

Is the community large for lowbies? One thing I always notice about mmo's that have been out a while is there is no community or fun leveling, its all endgame or nothing...can never find groups either.

It is yeah depending on the server. They recently did a server combine so most of them are full now, just pick the one with the highest population. Best bet is to get into a good guild and you will have loads of people to help you out. EQ is not as bad as wow for end game or nuthin, people have a load of alts that they always like to play as well.

You could grab the $20 bundle, play for a month for free and decide if you like it.

So the new expansion is not needed until further on?

Try Lord of the Rings Online. F2P, and VIP is only $10 a month if you like it.

I completely agree. I've been playing Lotro for about 2 years now and still enjoy it. Graphics and gameplay are great and all the various classes has something for every type of player. I currently play on Firefoot (the first and only server I played on). Its one of the smaller servers I believe but still plenty of life for me. If you decide to jump in, shoot me a PM on here and I will give you my info.

Hello. If you want to play a Mature MMO, try Final Fantasy 11. It is a subscription-based MMO, just like World of Warcraft. I know there is Final Fantasy 14 out right now but the developers are sorting out all of the current bugs in the game and it may take some time to fix the bugs. Final Fantasy 11 is outdated but it is being consistenly updated and there are almost no bugs in the game.
