I have it and quite enjoy playing as both sides. Only thing i don't like so far are the cop time trials as well i don't drive perfectly with a keyboard so i typically hit things every once and a while where the racer doesn't get penalized for hitting stuff in time trials.

I've played through NFS:HP during the holidays.

The goods:

- Great graphics.
- Busting speeders and wrecking cops is actually pretty fun.
- The cars do handle differently enough to make the choice interesting.

The bads:

- You need to concentrate so much on the driving that you don't actually get to see the good graphics.
- The time trials are very unforgiving, especially for the cops. (I got everything on gold except half the trials.)
- A lot of the events are pretty repetitive... especially the trials. Each one for the cops begins with the same cut-scene, with different cars swapped in.
- When the computer takes control of your car to show you the pretty mayhem you left in your wake, it drives perfectly around spike and road blocks, but the game designers chose to *never* take any short-cut, no matter how often you've shown your knowledge of them. A badly timed spike strip can make you go by the shortcut, costing you precious seconds in trials...
- Even though cars handle differently, or maybe due to it, it's rarely a good choice to pick any car but the top one.
