So after Steam adding the Wallet feature it is no surprise that this was to follow but I am not for or against this at this current time as I can't access the store to see if it gives players any benefits over non-paying players.

The blog post on Teamfortress.com is kind of funny and i guess it makes sense why they would add this.. But what do you guys think?

Goodbye TF2 ... you were fun while it lasted. Not only is shit expensive ... a good portion of it would give quite the advantage to other players.

Looking into it a bit further ... you can still get all the new shit from random drops and what not ... (however, I've only found two hats after hundreds of hours playing), but ... everything in the store is so expensive. If stuff were no more than a buck or two I wouldn't have an issue.

There should be a option to play "original TF2" where everything went back to how it was when TF2 was originally launched - no updates. Then it would be fun and balanced.

They ruined the atmosphere with the ridiculous hats and now ridiculous items, they overdid/killed the humor aspect, the community is now filled with too many ass hats, and they completely sold out now apparently. Hurmph.



Remember the good ol' days when TF2 was fun...

I don't want to sound like an old crank, but I agree. I stopped playing TF2 for a period, and came back to a totally different animal. I was OK with the crafting, and wasn't too bothered by the hats, but after a slew of updates, the game changed too much. Part of TF2's fun was its simplicity, which seems to have ebbed away.

I like the 'Classic' TF2 idea, and I'd bet that be hugely popular.

Oh well, I've logged hundreds of hilariously fun hours in that game. Not bad for 10 bucks.
