Default Backing up Mass Effect

I am about to do a new build and am going to start from a fresh and clean hard drive. Backing up most of my files is easy, but I want to keep my Mass Effect 1 and 2 characters. Anyone know the file locations of the characters? Thanks.

You can use game saves managers, you don't have to manually back-up every saves.

Why would it be easier if he wants to keep the unique one he spent time creating over just taking someone elses?

Personally, i just back up the entire folder in My Documents\Bioware

That is exactly what I do and I have moved it has survived a couple of wipes and re-installs so that is the best way to go about it. The size is quite small as well if it is just Mass Effect, but if you happen to have Dragon Age it can be a fair bit larger.
