Steam Weekend Sale is TW: Shogun 2 Save 33% on Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam

Debating if I should grab it. Though I don't believe I have ever played a TW game.

I'm quite enjoying Shogun, admittedly not much unit variation between different clans but gameplay is solid and quite enjoyable. Is also very graphically pleasing.

S2:TW is pretty good. The long load times (even with SSD caching) are killing the flow for me though.

There are also VERY steep hardware requirements when you get into the upper ranges of DX11. I'm playing at max settings 2560 x 1600 without AA enabled @ about 30 FPS with dips into the low 20s on an MSI Lightning eXteme 3GB and an i7 2600K @ 4.4Ghz.

I have to agree with Skymtl, the first splash screen stays for about 5 minutes with me, they tend to get a bit better than that in game but still not very good. Though, I'm also not playing at the high end of DX11

well with my trusty old Q660 and 4870 (512mb), I don't think I would be turning up the eye candy. I believe there is a demo, so maybe I'll give that a try first.

Put it this way: with all the settings cranked at 1920 x 1200 without AA enabled, the game eats up about 1.2GB of a GPU's framebuffer.

Just got the Splinter Cell pack on steam. Strange that they don't have the second game on there.
