Wow, you guys are really spending a lot on games. I doubt ya'll even have time to play them all to the fullest. Better off just picking a few really good ones in the bunch and call it a good holiday.

^^ SC2 is probably the best investment I've made this year. Considering how much time I've spent on it, super good deal.

A few other games that I didn't quit after an hour or so this year were:
Just Cause 2
Assassin's Creed 2
Fallout New Vegas
Batman Arkham Asylum
Dragon Age: Origins (a bit late to the party)

No intention of touching these again, but they did their job entertaining. Single player games, so you can't expect much replay value.

On steam, JC2 and AC2 are both on sale for $7.5 and $15 respectively. Discount on AC2 to $12 if you own AC1.
These 2 alone should last the holidays+ if you haven't already played them.

I know I know. But $50 for 1 game during the Steam holiday sale seems a bit unnecessary. SC2 will be around for a while so I think I can hold off for now. What I found is I just missed base building and groups of units, unlike the DoW 2 games. Which I also have come to enjoy, but it has been a rocky road. ;)

I have really come to love the AC games. Batman is awesome too. I actually bought AC2 & BM as gifts for family this year on 360. Pretty sure the kids haven't played them yet. One kid is a CoD & Halo nut with a side of Saints Row and the other I don't know as well, but he can always exchange it.

I was going to get Assassin's Creed since it looks like a good game...

.... but this turned me off the idea.

Interesting. I thought DRM was supposed to stop piracy, not purchases?

Too bad it turned you off, fun game. The drm isn't that bad as long as you have an ok connection, btw.

Yeah, that DRM on AC2 is ridiculous and stupid. What you can do, if needed, is use a crack.
It's quite counter-productive, as this would promote piracy... There are less hoops to jump through.

I didn't say I wasn't going to play it. I said I wasn't going to buy it because of the DRM.

If I buy a single player game I want to play it, not play it conditionally.

I wont be buying AC2, the DRM is of the overly draconian type that does 0 to stop pirates and everything to hurt legit buyers. Apart from that its not a bad game, I'm just willing to pay for games not drm.

New Steam Daily: Blur for 15, Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising for 3, Wings of Prey for 5, Dead Rising for 20, Mass effect games for 50% off, and some other games that have little relevance to my liking.
