Question BF2 or Counterstrke.

How does counter strike source compare to battlefield2?It seems i never get to far with BF2?Never enough ram or video card or something.Even in gameplay.

I play my fair share of both. CS:S is a more competitive, skill based game, and positioning is most important. BF2 is more open, and squad based, and if done right, your squad can be very very deadly. I don't think I like one more than the other, as they are both very different games.

Is there one you could suggest close to BF2 game play which is not such a memory hog?

2G is more than enough to play BF2, used to play bf2 with 512mb of RAM.

Trith be told if you want BF2 gameplay there isnt alot out there IMO, other than 2142.

Never speak of source again, back when it came out I got banned form like 5 servers because of "hacking". I'm sorry, but the hit boxes for the heads are HUGE!

And Counter Strike if done properly is hugely team based. Just watch the difference between a bunch of good players working by themselves compared to a bunch of good players working as a team.

As for something other then BF, there is Quake Wars...pretty much a BF look-a-like set in the Quake world...but I doubt it's less of a hog.

Truthfully...I prefer Team Fortress 2 over both of them, while counter strike was at one point my favorite online shooter, TF2 completely stole that title away. Hugely team based, fun, able to run on very slow computers, and heavily team based. It's a game where you pretty much need mic's to get the most out of it! But I guess my talking of TF2 is going a little off topic

TF2 is awesome!!! I mainly like BF2 because of the rankings and unlocks, plus the Helicopters. It's a pretty fun run and hide game. CoD4 is also great, but quite stressful on your computer.

I hate unlocks in any game.

Counterstrike source is a good game and there are some mods that make it like battlefield 2 with vehicles and stuff. TF2 is another good shooter.

And llama_egg I feel your pain too. I have gotten banned for being to good but I have also gotten banned from some BF2 servers because of stupid admins too.

I've had CSS for over 3 years and clocked over 450hours of gameplay. For replay value, I think CSS has the best. I've clocked about 70hours of BF2.I got TF2 and I started playing it more than Css, but I doubt I'll play more than I did with CSS.

Never played BF2 heard there was to much hacking and a bunch of other crap involved.
Tried Counter Strike but it never really appealed to me.

Lately been playing Day of Defeat and TF2 and I love TF2 but the team your on has to be really organized or the game just seems really horrible cause you feel like your the only one really trying.

I mostly alternate between CS:S and TF2
I tried BF2, but I'm currently on a laptop so the gameplay was bad IMO. I will try again on the rig I will build this spring. Can wait to test Crysis, COD4 and more!

TF2 is really nice to play when team are equilibrated. I hated to be owned in 10 sec by the other team

For CS:S, I really enjoy while playing in a team & doing some scrim. TF2 is just pure fun :P
