During the first week after release, as soon as I saw the Cluster Grenades skill I keyed in on the LoH potential and built my DH to be a tank - and tank I did, using a "themed" build that included the Cluster Arrow - Cluster Bombs skill rune as well as Caltrops - Jagged Spikes.

This build was awesome even into Inferno, until I reached the Butcher for the first time: I could barely withstand his major attacks so I was forced to whittle him down...which was when I discovered the enrage timers in D3 (the entire floor turns to fire until you die). I was forced to change my skills to high-damage single-target skills to cheese my way through successfully...not really what I wanted to do.

Later on, I changed my build to Gas Grenades after seeing that poison also triggers LoH, and also changed my bow and shield to items that included bleed damage, which increased my killing speed and also triggered LoH. The Butcher was no longer a problem and my "theme" was still largely intact; I brought him down on my terms and in good time.

Then I got to Act 2 and all the regular monsters outside of town could kill me in 1-3 shots, resulting in a gigantic amount of movement and kiting. Most champion mods were a death sentence, and if I took too long trying to kill them, the enrage timers kicked in and arbitrarily killed me even if the enemies weren't hitting me. I don't get the itch to play anymore.

First official communication of any sort in a week. Absolutely nothing in there about recognising the broken itemization system which suggests to me that it's "working as intended".

Uninstalling as we speak.

It's about the same sort of treatment Bioware is/was giving players for SWTOR. Glitchy unbalanced game that the devs were claiming that was working as intended (while EA cuts more and more staff from that team). After a while you say it's no longer worth it and you move on. With SWTOR I gave it about 5-6 months, 4 of those months paid, with D3 I gave it about a month. I should uninstall as I doubt I'll be playing it any time soon still.

Currently installing DA II. They must have all of the bugs worked out by now. I had intended to avoid playing it once I discovered that it wasn't available from steam, but I suppose the experience can't be any worse than what I just went through with Blizzard.

It may be worthwhile for Blizzard to invest in getting him his own account. The "Dear Money" version of that message is way better though.

Heh... yeah.

I mean c'mon.... the CEO of a first tier tech company can't (or couldn't be bothered) post his own comments? I suppose they might be afraid of what kind of forum PMs he gets, but they can always turn off that particular feature for his account.

I wonder how long we'll have to wait for blizz to release current player usage numbers to their stockholders?

I'm betting at most 1M left out of the 6+ million games they've sold might still be logging game time every week and that they're probably down to 200K hardcore (10 hrs+ / week) players left. Complete guesswork on my part though.

I'm also going to look into my crystal ball and predict that this game wins the worst game of the year award (popular vote award... not the official one from any publication that depends on advertising dollars.... ;) ).

I wonder if their online servers report back when the game has been uninstalled?I wasn't going to play DA II once I discovered that it wasn't available through steam (even though I'd purchased the hard copy), but I guess enough time has passed for the bugs to have been ironed out, and it surely can't stink as much as the broken itemization does in this game. Thanks for the laugh, don't bother emailing me about the expansion pack unless you're giving it out for free.
Spam / Trolling???? Really?

24 hour ban, maybe longer + full game account ban if they discover that I've been talking about it outside of school.

Maybe if they addressed some of the real issues instead of mouthing fluff, folks like me wouldn't be posting such things.

I see it as a perfect counterpoint to uninstalling the game earlier today after reading the CEO's message to the masses.

On that particular topic... there's absolutely no way that this game actually uninstalls. It's a long download and on my slow 5400 RPM laptop drive it only took 10 seconds to uninstall????? It's still there somewhere and I'll have to root it out now..... :)

edit: Maybe they intend to delete all of the negative posts over in that particular thread so that the CEO has something positive to take back to the board........ ;)
