I just wanted to jump in and clarify that the drop rates for the Archon crafting recipes is not 50%. The plans have a chance to drop in the world, but select bosses have a scaling drop rate that increases with Monster Power. Here is a list of those bosses and how the drop rate scales.

•Skeleton King
•Spider Queen
•Maghda
•Zoltun Kulle
•Ghom
•Cydaea
•Rakanoth
•Izual

•The drop rate from the above bosses will also scale according to your Monster Power level:

•MP 0: 20%
•MP 1: 23.2%
•MP 2: 26.912%
•MP 3: 31.218%
•MP 4: 36.213%
•MP 5: 42.007%
•MP 6: 48.728%
•MP 7: 56.524%
•MP 8: 65.568%
•MP 9: 76.059%
•MP 10: 88.228%

that makes my runs (12+now) even more infuriating! Its double the chance I thought!

So far I've probably spent around 2 million on crafting, and have new amulet, bracers & shoulders that have increased my sheet dps by 15k (actual Fists of Thunder dps closer to 100k) and increased my EHP around 80k.
To buy those same pieces on the AH would have cost me 250-300m so I think it's fair to say that I'm a fan of the new crafting mechanic.

My old bracers actually just sold within seconds for 40m so I suspect I under-priced them.

I finally gave up using my skorn in favour of the bull katho's set even though I dropped 20K unbuffed DPS. The skorn is just wayyyy toooooo slow for somebody who really wants to play a dual wield frenzy / WW barb.

I seem to have as as good of a survival rate at the same MP level even though it takes me a little longer to take out the mobs / bosses. In the end it came down to how much more satisifying a frenzy barb is to play as opposed to a slow bash / cleave double handed weapon build.

oh man.. BK weapons?.. not really the ideal WW weapons for a barb though. The crit bonus you get from a mace/axe outweighs the extra fury per hit you get with a mighty weapon.

On the subject of DE.. with some testing, I've been told that lower MPs is the way to go, and just hit more elites / hr if all you want to farm is DE. Farm VOTA and skip trash mobs.

Anyways.. for those who play monk or who are interested to play monk, Tonight at 8pm EST, i'll be doing an educational monday on CDXLIV's live stream. I've built a 10m, 50m and 100m monk and will be going over how to build it, and how to play them with the cookie cutter spec. At the end, I will be giving the sets away to the viewers.. so if you have time, stop by and check it out! cdxliv

Heh... unfortunately I believe the highest DPS one-hander Mace and/or Axe I've had drop has been around 900 DPS and forget about having both CD and a socket.... ;)

True, but in this case you could then sell said item for $ on the RMAH. Some of the guys I play with have made thousands and built kickass new PC's from the proceeds of their RMAH sales.

In other news, +% dmg to <main attack of choice> items freakin rock!
Just dropped 20m on a new Inna's helm with +10% to Fists of Thunder damage & it skyrocketed my FoT damage to just over 700k dps when buffed
