I'm finding it tough to get upgrades to suit my playstyle. Goal is 350 + all res, 35K hp, 2100+ dex, 2.43 attacks per second with a dual wielding DH with 24% movement speed.

My son and I just got D3 last night from a friend for a decent price $30 a copy. Had lvl 60's on them already but with no gear or money. We started with those just to get the hang of it and already have some rare items not sure how important these are as we are both completely new to the game.

So far we both like it but I could see how the replay value would be low after you play through it once.

That's a shame, you could've got two copies of torchlight 2 for $20 less and had a better time.

PTR Patch 1.0.5 Notes - Forums - Diablo III

Wow... patch 1.05 ready for testing (system in place to sign up for it).

Lots of fairly major changes to core mechanics, and amounts of drops (for example, resplendant chests will now drop based on neph boost the same as an elite would), but at the bottom of it all is still the issue of 500 X .000000000000000001% chance of getting a decent item isn't all that much different than 300 X the same chance.

Between this announcement today, and the fact that they are deleting / moving any and all references to tl2 from their general discussion forums I figure they're running awfully scared as to losing pretty much the rest of their player base.

Well one of the main things TL2 has over Diablo III is that your damage isn't more or less 100% stuck to whatever weapon you are using...

I've only got a couple of hours into TL2, but the difference in item diversity is already painfully obvious. Add to that the inclusion of a much larger pool of item customization through sockets than the 4 gems we got in DIII and I can see that there's going to be a huge difference in how drops feel.

I'm honestly really liking Diablo3 with my son but it is my first ever hack and slash game (always done FPS, Racing, Sports games lol).

Anyway I wonder with TL2 if its as good or better if I should wait for thanks giving or even xmas see if it goes on sale at all?

TL2 is different rather than better. It does a lot of things that DIII should have done, but isn't quite as polished as DIII.

Quite frankly, you can't go wrong @ $20 / game, and it's only going to get better once the modders get ahold of it.

I played Torchlight, and Fate, and they were a fun distraction. I still play around with Torchlight from time to time. I am still wasting my time in D3, and watching what 1.05 will bring. My only wish is that I was able to farm set pieces instead of just killing stuff and hoping for that one special random drop. Then again, it was like that in Titan Quest, I never did manage to get a whole set of anything in that game either :)

I'll pick up TL2 when they put it on sale, cause Steam always puts stuff on sale eventually!
