Default Mafia II demo crashes

Downloaded the demo off of steam. But every time I play it my computer will give me the error "Windows must now restart because the power service terminated unexpectedly".

Sometimes it happens after 10-15 min, sometimes 1min. This has never happened with any other game/application. So I think its software related.

Here's what the event viewer tells me

The Service Control Manager tried to take a corrective action (Reboot the machine) after the unexpected termination of the DCOM Server Process Launcher service, but this action failed with the following error:
A system shutdown has already been scheduled.

Any ideas? what I've found on google says it could be malware. Scanned with malwarebytes, did nothing.

Well I can say this demo is a lot of fun but WAY to short.

Can max everything just wish you could turn on more AA in-game.

for curiosity's sake, are you running windows 7, 64 bit?

I've preordered the game on steam, so I sure hope the full version doesnt act up like this.

No issues here with the demo under Windows 7 x64. Check your overclocks maybe?

And yeah I agree, demo was way too short and the lack of AA was a bit disappointing. Should still be a fun game though.

Removed my OC, all works fine now.

I think I'll leave it off too, its hot enough around here without the added vcore.

Thanks for the advice jdrom

Also the lack of being able to jump, and the lack of reaction from passerbys when you point a gun at them

White men don't jump

Didn't notice the pedestrians reactions though.

I guess thats why it is a demo but should be labeled beta.

For those who are complaining about it being too short, a simple hex edit of the exe file can extend the time duration past the 10 min limit.
Doubt that kind of link is legit here, but I'm sure you can google a quick how-to easy enough.

Note that I don't have the demo, so haven't tried this, I just read it elsewhere
