Default Bioshock Infinite

So, despite hinting to quite the contrary, Ken Levine and his team at Irrational are making another Bioshock... but this time it's set in the sky. I am ok with this as I would much rather have this team making a Bioshock than the monkeys at 2K. Bioshock 2 was a let down and if 2K makes any more... I won't be buying them. But with Ken Levine's fanatical obsession with yesteryear's American dream meets steampunk and magic, I foresee a more satisfying experience than 2Ks sequel. Although 2K is still publishing this, so I am still buying a 2K game I guess. :\

I agree how Bioshock 2 was a big let down. I stopped playing the game an hour or so in thinking it was crap, it had no grab to it. Bioshock one was a good game except the near the end it seemed to drag on. If they make another, can we not have enemies randomly spawn in cleared spots, its a pet peeve of mine.

I said the debut trailer, after watching it I'm left with a big WTF face. I liked bioshock because of the atomosphere, now its all sunny and bright. I really hope they don't ruin this one too.

This is gonna have to be REALLY good for me to even consider buying it. The first Bioshock was good but disappointing, and the second one was just garbage (though I know it was handled by a different studio).

I didn't mind the 2nd one like most people. I ended up finishing it, and that was it. it def. wasn't as good as the first but I still found it playable.

Indeed. Levine has the ability for great narrative and characters in games. That's what was missing from Bioshock 2. That game tried to "formulize", rinse & repeat what he did with #1 (in terms of narrative) and it fell very flat. Not too mention a game with one long escort mission was a drag imo. Anyways...

From the preview and interviews it sounds like we will be getting much of the concepts laid out in Bioshock (hence the name) with a whole new setting and different gameplay elements; like the hook and trolly line. It also sounds like they are really trying to open up/ramp up the gameplay more when using and combining weapons, powers and environments. Well we have a ways to go to 2012 so all we can do is wait and see I guess. Here's to hoping!

Honestly, i don't care about gameplay improvements, features and graphics.

If Levine gives as much work as he did in Bioshock 1 for its narration, its mythologic references, it's philosophic inspirations through the scenery, the characters and the storyline, i will be more than happy.
