Default Crysis Finally Kneels Down ;)

Yeah I know "poorly coded game"...whatever....just got home from work and brought my Crysis game home to try out on my Sli 480's / I7 Rig.....
Very High
1920 x 1200
Max AA / AF 16Qx

(Everything Cranked)

Frames between 55 - 85 FPS ( 55 for extreme / intense fight scenes)

I must say the "details" within the graphics at 16Q are stunning....poorly coded or not, this game still rocks as far as visuals go....

We shall see how Crysis 2 behaves! The graphics are there for sure, we'll see the performance

I'd like to see how Crysis would run if the coding was actually flawless :). That would be a very interesting read.

^^^ Bojangles...hhhmm...maybe tack on 20 or so FPS more perhaps......or maybe the older Rigs would have handled the AA / AF better. I have played through it twice:

- 1st time on a Duo Core E8400 single 8800GTX 1680 x 1050 Res "All High no AA" - nicely playable
- 2nd time I7 Tri Sli 280's - same settings as above BUT NO AA / AF.....less FPS then above for sure.

The Sli 480's chews it up and spits it out....

I'm sure Crysis 2 will be similar to JC2 / Metro 33 ....I7 and Sli 480's should stomp through it nicely at 1920 x 1200 ;)

Mr Wilson....I remember at launch even a Tri Sli 8800 Ultra Rig couldn't crank everything at 1920 x 1200 without huge slow downs. The game really was far ahead of its time at launch.

I would imagine Crysis 2 will have more to do with how well/poorly it is ported to the PC.

My second playthrough was on my laptop with a C2D T7500 (2.2 GHz) with a GeForce 8400GS... "The Core" level crippled my GPU so badly I made it through without any kills

If Crysis 2 is as crippling as the first one to modern GPUs, I'll upgrade to something that can handle it at 1680x1050, with high settings - that would mean it will last me the next 2 years at least on newer games set to "medium"

Crysis doesn't look any better (and it may even look worse) than the first one from the screenshots and videos I've seen. I have a feeling it might perform better than the first one even on PC, due to the engine optimizations made for consoles.
