UE3 is probably the best-designed engine on the market today. Why else do you think it's so popular? It performs incredibly well, has excellent development and content creation tools, is completely cross-platform, and is constantly being updated and supported by Epic. It's also very easy to create mods for, and the settings for UE3 games are stored in plain-text files so even if a setting isn't available in the game's GUI you can often just change it manually. Not to mention the fact that it can produce fantastic-looking graphics in the hands of a talented development team.

Well GoW IS a a very buggy port. Bioshock, once they fixed the FOV and you figured out the mouse it was great. Never played wolverine except the demo on PS3. It's not the engine it's the lazy porting you are suffering from. Especially in terms of Epic's middle finger to the PC and a movie tie in game.

Bioshock actually runs on a modified version of UE2.5, not UE3 (which is why it looks like crap compared to most UE3 games).

The engine doesn't suck. The developers who use it for the wrong reasons suck.

Nothing wrong with the UT3 Engine and Gears of War does not use that engine I believe. UT3 came out AFTER GOW.

I think GOW was one of the first games to use UE3.

And I thought Wolverine ran fine on PC.

Bioshock runs flawlessly on my monitor, but when playing on a 47'' screen, the menu and settings are bugging as hell. Bit out of topic, though.

UE3 is pretty good if you ask me, which would explain it's popularity and success. There may be lots of games with bugs, but that's just because there were lots of games made with UE3.

Gears of War does use UE3. What does the release date have to do with anything?
